Fundraising
There are two
ways to donate:
Donations can be made to specific projects or to
the general operations of the Centre and Building.
Donations can also be made in memory of a loved one to show your
love and support.
One many ask, "Why Should I donate to the Pride
Centre?" There are many good reasons. The Pride
Centre of Edmonton provides space for community groups to meet.
We seek to create an environment where all members of the LGBTQ
community can visit to feel safe and welcome. We also seek
to provide links between individuals and community organizations
through resource referrals and support programs.
Another objective is to provide access to a library that
contains a comprehensive selection of volumes for the LGBTQ
community. We also seek to organize and support activities
such as support groups, social events, and educational seminars,
that improve the quality of social, mental, and physical health
of our community.
As you know, running any public service agency
requires dedicated volunteers, leaders, and of course donations
from community members of both ideas and money. In order to help us achieve and address these
goals, we do need financial support. Funding is needed to
undertake such projects as publicizing information about our
centre to the community, providing support to new members and
youth, and maintaining the space that houses our meeting space
and library.
